3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/4 tsp. baking soda
1 1/2 c. brown sugar
3/4 c. butter
2 Tbsp. water
2 c. chocolate chips
2 eggs
1/2 c. powdered sugar (optional)
Directions:
These chocolate cookies puff into nice neat rounds - a yummy cookie that is always a hit, and so easy too. And rolling in powdered sugar is a nice seasonal touch for folks dreaming of a white Christmas!
Into a medium bowl, sift flour, baking soda, and salt. Set aside.
In a pan, heat brown sugar, butter, and water. Stir until butter is melted. Stir in chocolate chips and remove from heat. Transfer to a bowl and let cool five minutes.
Beat eggs into chocolate-sugar mixture. Then add dry ingredients (flour mixture) gradually. Let dough rest 10 min.
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Line a baking sheet with foil. Roll dough into balls about the size of a walnut. (A little smaller than a ping-pong ball.) If rolling in powdered sugar, place sugar in a small bowl. Roll the dough through the sugar and place on prepared baking tray.
Bake at 350°F for about 12-14 min. Tops will be dry but not firm.
