Colonial Day Snickerdoodles

Ingredients:
1 c. butter 1 1/2 c. sugar 2 eggs 2 3/4 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 2 tsp. cream of tartar 1/2 tsp. salt cinnamon sugar for rolling
Directions:
Colonial Day recipe. Yield: 5 doz. cookies Preheat oven to 400°F. Grease cookie sheets. In a mixing bowl, cream together butter and sugar. Beat in eggs. Add flour, baking soda, cream of tartar and salt. Mix to make a firm dough. Shape dough into balls about 3/4 in. in diameter (smaller than a walnut). Roll balls in cinnamon sugar. Arrange on cookie sheets and flatten slightly with the bottom of a glass dipped in cinnamon sugar. Bake at 400°F for 10 min.
