Colonial Day King's Arms Tavern Sweet Potatoes


Ingredients:
6 lb. sweet potatoes 1 1/2 c. brown sugar, divided 6 Tbsp. butter 1 tsp. cinnamon 1 tsp. nutmeg 1/2 tsp. salt 2 c. milk
Directions:
Colonial Day recipe. Preheat oven to 400°F. Prepare a 3 qt. casserole by spraying with nonstick or greasing with butter. Cook sweet potatoes in boiling, salted water until done. Peel and mash. Stir remaining ingredients into mashed sweet potatoes, reserving 4 Tbsp. brown sugar. Turn sweet potatoes into prepared casserole. Sprinkle with reserved sugar. Bake at 400°F for 30 min.
