Crispy Baked Chicken Legs

3 lbs. chicken legs
1/2 c. cornmeal
1/2 c. flour
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 tsp. chili powder
1/2 tsp. oregano
1/4 tsp. black pepper
Drumsticks for everyone! Using nonstick spray instead of butter makes a healthier choice. For even more tender chicken, soak in milk or buttermilk before rolling in the flour mixture.
Preheat oven to 375°F.
On a large plate or shallow bowl, combine cornmeal, flour, salt, chili powder, oregano and black pepper.
Spray a 9x13 baking dish with nonstick spray. (I used two dishes to fit all the chicken legs without touching each other.)
Roll the chicken legs in the cornmeal-flour mixture and place in the prepared pan. Place far enough apart so that the chicken legs don't touch each other.
Bake at 375°F for 50 min. or until done.
