Hot Cross Buns


Ingredients:
LIEBLER FAMILY Note: Found handwritten in a Gold Medal Flour notebook hand-dated "Spring of 1929." Written as found, misspellings and all. I would assume the temp. of oven should be about 375 degrees. I will make this recipe and report accordingly.
Directions:
1 cup scalded milk Add: 1/4 cup sugar 2 tablesp butter 1/2 teasp salt. When luke warm add 1/2 yeast cake disolved in 1/4 cup water, 1 egg, 3/4 tsp. cinamon +3 cup flour Fold in 1/4 cup of seeded raisins cut or currants. Cover & let rise until double. Shape in form of large biscuits & place in pan. Let rise. Brush over with beaten egg & bake for 20 mins. When cool make a frosting cross on each one. Enjoy! -Diana
