2 Tbsp. garlic salt
2 Tbsp. brown sugar
1 Tbsp. pepper
1 Tbsp. chili powder
2 tsp. cumin
1 Tbsp. Soul Seasoning
1 Tbsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. cayenne pepper
Directions:
This makes way more dry rub than you need for tonight's barbecue, but it keeps well in a tightly closed container. Rub it on ribs, steak, chicken and grill over a charcoal fire.
Yield: approx. 1/2 c. rub, enough for several cookout nights
On Soul Seasoning: I found this in the grocery store the other day and just had to buy it. I know that it's for adventures in Soul Food. But consider what seasoning your soul might need. Too much sin? Add a sprinkle of Soul Seasoning!
In a small bowl, combine garlic salt, brown sugar, pepper, chili powder, cumin, soul seasoning, paprika, and cayenne pepper.
Shake it on tonight's barbecue before grilling. Use your fingers to really rub it into the meat.
