Herbed Biscuits


Ingredients:
1/3 cup shortening 1.75 cups all-purpose flour 2.5 tsp. baking powder 1 Tbsp. minced fresh parsley 2 tsp. fresh rosemary leaves 1 tsp. ground marjoram 3/4 tsp. salt 3/4 cup milk
Directions:
Heat oven to 450 degrees. In a medium bowl, cut shortening into a mixture of the dry ingredients, until the mix resembles coarse crumbs. Stir in the milk slowly, working the dough into a ball. Turn out onto a well-floured surface and pat into a 1/2 inch thickness. Cut with a biscuit cutter or the floured rim of a thin glass. Place 1 inch apart on an ungreased jelly roll pan and bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes, or until golden brown. Makes about 12 biscuits. Enjoy! -Diana
