Ingredients: Metric Units
2 lbs ground beef
2 onions, chopped
2 garlic cloves, chopped
1 16 oz can chopped plum tomatoes
1 1/2 Tbsp brown sugar
2 Tbsp curry powder
2 Tbsp vinegar
salt, pepper to taste
2 firm bananas, sliced
1 apple, cored, diced
1 Tbsp apricot jam
1/4 c slivered almonds
1/4 c raisins
Directions:
The signature South African dish - a fusion of solid European flavors like beef and garlic with tropical notes like curry and bananas.

Brown meat in large skillet, drain off fat. Add all other ingredients. Simmer gently, stirring frequently, for about 30 minutes. Serve over steamed rice with sweet chutney and shredded coconut.
