Chen's Traditional Cornbread

Ingredients:
1 c. flour 3/4 c. corn meal 1/3 c. sugar 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 c. milk 1/4 c. vegetable oil 1 beaten egg
Directions:
Preheat oven to 425°F. Grease an 8x8 square baking pan. Mix corn meal, flour, sugar, baking powder, salt. Add milk, egg, and oil. Blend well. Spoon into pan, bake about 20 minutes. Cut into squares. note: 1/4 c = 4 Tbsp. A cakey, rich cornbread.
