Greek Beef & Potato Stew on Pasta More Recipes Like This

Ingredients: Metric Units
1 lb. beef cubes
1/4 c flour
1 tsp salt
pepper to taste
2 Tbsp veg. oil
2 lg. sweet onions
2 lg cloves garlic
1 tsp dried rosemary
2 sprigs parsley
3 bay leaves
1 tsp grd cinnamon
1/4 tsp pepper
1/4 tsp allspice
2 c water
1 1/4 c dry white wine
2 lg red potatoes, cubed
1/2 lb rotini pasta
2 tsp balsamic or red wine vinegar
Heat oven to 350. Dredge meat in flour seasoned with salt, pepper. Heat oil in lg. pan until hot, brown beef. Remove beef. Add onions, cook 'til golden. Remove 1/2 onions. Add garlic, rosemary, parsley, bay, cinnamon, salt, pepper, allspice to onions. Stir well, add water, wine. Rtn meat to pan. Bake until almost tender, 1 1/2 hrs. Stir potatoes into meat. Return to oven, bake, covered until tender, 30 min. Meanwhile, cook pasta, drain. Discard parsley sprigs, bay leaves. Stir in onion, vinegar. Serve over pasta. 6 svgs.
