American pizza recipes
1 med. onion, sliced
3 med. tomatoes, sliced
2 cloves garlic, crushed
10 basil leaves, in ribbons
1 tsp. butter
10 sheets phyllo dough
8 Tbsp. butter (1 stick) melted
1/4 c. olive oil
2 pkg. (10 oz. ea.) frozen spinach, thawed and squeezed dry
1 tsp. dried oregano
2 Tbsp. grated Parmesan cheese
6 c. grated mozarella cheese
Grease pizza pan with 1 tsp. butter. Preheat oven to 400°F.
Lay 2 sheets phyllo dough to cover bottom of baking pan. Lightly brush with melted butter. Layer 2 more on top, then butter, until all are used up.
Roll edges to create an edge.
Saute onions, garlic, spinach, basil, oregano, parmesan. Remove garlic, spread over dough. Layer tomatoes, top with mozarella.
Bake 25 minutes or until cheese is golden brown.
