1 3/4 c. water
1 c. long grain/converted rice
1/2 tsp. crushed thyme leaves
1/2 tsp. ground cumin
1/2 tsp. ground allspice
1/2 tsp. ground black pepper
1/2 tsp. salt (optional)
Yield: 3 c. or 4 servings
Stir together water, rice, thyme, cumin, allspice, pepper, salt in 3 quart microwave-safe casserole.
Cover tightly with lid. Microwave on high until liquid begins to boil, 4-7 min.
Microwave on medium heat until most of liquid is absorbed and rice is tender, 10 min. Let stand, covered, 5 min.
