Romanian Braised Cabbage with Tomatoes & Peppers More Recipes Like This

Romanian Side recipes

Ingredients: Metric Units
dash salt
1 med head grn cabbage ?2 lbs,
rinsed, cored, shredded
2 Tbsp oil
1 lg onion, chopped
1 grn pepper, in thin strips
salt & pepper to taste
2 Tbsp tomato paste
1/2 c water

2 med tomatoes, sliced
Directions:
Boil enough water in lg pan to cover cabbage. Add dash salt, cabbage, boil until just tender: 3-5 min. Drain. Rinse under cold water. Heat oil, add onions, grn pepper, saute ?5 min. Add cabbage, saute 5 min. Season with salt, pepper. Mix tom paste with 1/4 c of water, add to cabbage. Add remaining water, tomatoes. Cover, cook over low heat, stirring often, until cabbage & peppers are tender, ?15 min.
