These cookie bars are often a hit at the bake sale.
Combine flour, sugar, butter. Pat firmly into ungreased 9x13 baking pan
. Sprinkle pecans over unbaked crust.
Combine butter, sugar. Cook, stirring constantly, until entire surface of mixture begins to boil. Boil 30 seconds - 1 minute, stirring constantly. Pour evenly over crust.
Bake crust + caramel layer at 350ºF for 18 - 22 minutes or until caramel layer is bubbly and crust is light golden brown.
As bars cool, top with chips, swirled slightly for marbled effect. Do not spread. Scatter pecan halves on top. Makes 3 - 4 doz. bars.
