Zia Tina's Turnover Cookies More Recipes Like This

Italian Cookie Recipes

Ingredients: Metric Units
2 1/2 cups (0.6 L) flour
3/4 cup (178 ml) sugar
1/4 pound (0.1 kg) butter
3 tsp. (15 ml) baking powder
3 tsp. (15 ml) vanilla
3 eggs
Evaporated Milk

Filling: Damson Plum Jam, cranberry jelly, a mix of baby-food peaches and baby-food prunes, strawberry jam, or other jams as you see fit.
Directions:
Mix well, turn out on well-floured board. Knead until smooth. Roll about 1/4 inch thick. Cut into circles with a glass. Fill. (that means place a Tablespoon of filling onto center of circle) Fold and press edges well. Brush with evaporated milk. Bake at 375 degrees less than 10 minutes or until just turning golden. DO NOT GREASE SHEET. Enjoy! -Diana

NOTE: Auntie Tina (Zia Tina) was a wonderful lady. Standing only 4 foot ten, she stood at the stove on a stool! She could cook ANYTHING you asked for. I miss her.
