2 c. cooked beef, in thin, bite-sized pieces
1 c. snow peas
2 Tbsp. oil
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/2 c. onion, thinly sliced
1/4 c. hoisin sauce
1 Tbsp. soy sauce, or to taste
1 Tbsp. dry sherry
1 tsp. sesame oil
1 Tbsp. sesame seeds
1 tsp. cornstarch
water
Directions:
Cut beef into thin slices, then into bite-sized pieces. Remove strings from snow peas if desired. Heat oil in wok or skillet over medium high heat. Add garlic, onion. When onion is softened and translucent, add beef. Add hoisin sauce, toss to coat. Add soy sauce, sherry. Continue to cook until beef is heated through. Add snow peas and cook until crisp tender. Add sesame oil and sesame seeds. In a small bowl, add a little water to the cornstarch to make a paste. Add cornstarch paste to skillet. Combine well, sauce will thicken. Serve over rice.
Great for leftover beef, or try it with chicken.
