1 lb. butter
1 c. sugar
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp salt.
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. nutmeg
These crisp little cookies are rich with butter. A Christmas cookie favorite.
Soften butter. Cream butter and sugar. Add vanilla, nutmeg. Add salt and flour gradually. Flour pastry cloth and rolling pin sleeve. Roll out to 1/4" thick, cut into diamonds. Place on cookie tray. Prick with fork. Bake at 350°F for 15 min. Keep in airtight container.
