Ingredients:
5 tortillas 1 lb. ground beef 1 packet taco seasoning 1 can chili beans or black beans 1 c. salsa 1 tomato, chopped (optional) 1 can refried beans 1 c. sour cream 1 c. shredded cheese Homemade Tortilla Chips for dipping
Directions:
A hearty tortilla chip dip perfect for watching the Big Game. Yield: munchies for a big crew Brown ground beef in a skillet. Add taco seasoning and follow packet directions, just as if it were Taco Tuesday. Line a pie plate with tortillas - place one tortilla, whole, in the middle of the pie plate, then cut tortillas into wedges and lay in pie plate to act as a crust. In a small bowl, stir together the refried beans and sour cream. If the mixture is still to thick to spread, either add the salsa to this mixture or add a little more sour cream. Assemble the pie: Spread taco meat in a layer over the tortillas. Add a layer of beans. Add a layer of salsa, a layer of tomatoes (if using), then a layer of the refried bean mixture. On the top, add a generous layer of shredded cheese. If you're serving it immediately, bake in a 325°F oven 20 minutes, to heat through all ingredients. If not serving immediately, then cover and refrigerate. If desired, stack something on top to press it down a bit. Heat before serving. Serve with chips.
