Ngau Yuk Mai (Chinese Steamed Meatballs) More Recipes Like This


Ingredients: Metric Units
1 lb lean beef, ground
1/4 c cold water
1/4 c veg oil
1/2 tsp crushed garlic
2 Tbsp chopped green onions
2 tsp sugar
1/2 tsp salt
3/4 tsp baking soda
1 1/2 tsp sesame oil
2 tsp finely grated lemon rind
1/2 c finely diced pork fat
1 med bunch cilantro
Directions:
Note: Requires chilling for 4 hours before preparation!

Make beef, water, oil, garlic, grn onions, sugar, salt, baking soda, sesame oil into smooth paste. Stir in lemon rind, pork fat. Chill covered 4 hours. Form into small balls. Arrange meatballs in steamer on cilantro leaves on plate. Steam over rapidly simmering water 12 min. Serve hot, with soy sauce, hot mustard or chili sauce.
