Directions:
Clean and hull strawberries - remove the green leaves and any tough inner core.
Slice strawberries into a bowl. If your strawberries are tart or bland, sprinkle with 2 tsp sugar. Let stand (but not overnight, they'll get squishy).
Bake cream biscuits.
Whip cream with a little sugar to taste or use canned whipped cream.
To assemble the perfect strawberry shortcake
1. With a sharp knife, split warm biscuit in half.
2. Lay biscuit in bowl. If you're feeling indulgent, butter the biscuit.
3. Spoon strawberries generously over the biscuit.
4. Top with whipped cream.
5. Take spoonful. Close eyes and savor.
