Swedish Chocolate Oatmeal Cookies

1/2 lb (2 sticks, 16 Tbsp) butter
1 1/4 c sugar
1 3/4 c flour
1 tsp baking powder
3 Tbsp cocoa
1 1/4 c oatmeal
Preheat oven to 400°F.
Beat butter and sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg and beat slightly to combine.
In a separate bowl, sift together flour, baking powder, and cocoa. Add to batter gradually.
Stir in oatmeal.
Roll cookie dough into balls and then place on baking sheet. Press lightly to spread into more of a cookie shape.
These cookies spread while baking, so be sure not to crowd the tray. Press decorative sugars into the cookies.
Bake in the middle of the oven for 8-10 minutes.
