Christmas Bread (Jullimpa) More Recipes Like This

Swedish Bread Recipes

Ingredients: Metric Units
2 1/2 c (0.6 L) buttermilk
1 1/4 c (0.3 L) golden syrup or dark corn syrup
4 tsp (20 ml) baking soda
3 c (0.7 L) sifted rye flour
3/4 c (178 ml) flour
1/2 c (119 ml) raisins
Directions:
Combine buttermilk and syrup in a large bowl.

In a separate bowl, sift together baking soda, rye flour, and all purpose flour.

Add to buttermilk-syrup mixture slowly to create a batter. Stir in raisins.

Pour into a greased large loaf pan.

Bake 1 1/4 hr at 350°F. Cool in pan 10 minutes, remove from pan and turn out to cool completely.
