Christmas Bread (Jullimpa) More Recipes Like This


Ingredients: Metric Units
2 1/2 c buttermilk
1 1/4 c golden syrup or dark corn syrup
4 tsp baking soda
3 c sifted rye flour
3/4 c flour
1/2 c raisins
Directions:
Combine buttermilk and syrup in a large bowl.

In a separate bowl, sift together baking soda, rye flour, and all purpose flour.

Add to buttermilk-syrup mixture slowly to create a batter. Stir in raisins.

Pour into a greased large loaf pan.

Bake 1 1/4 hr at 350F. Cool in pan 10 minutes, remove from pan and turn out to cool completely.
