Hostetler Family Recipe
1/4 c. vegetable oil
1/4 c. soy sauce
1/4 c. honey
1/4 c. red wine vinegar
Combine all ingredients.
Place london broil (or any other red meat) into a large ziplock bag, pour in marinade ingredients. Seal shut. Allow to marinate overnight in the refrigerator.
Remove from marinade and broil or grill.
On Food Safety
Marinate in the refrigerator. The cool temperature doesn't impede the marinating process, but it does impede the "bacteria growing" process.
Do not use the marinade to baste the meat. If you want to baste the meat, make up a separate batch of marinade that the meat will not sit in to brush on during cooking.
Try varying this by substituting for the red wine vinegar - white vinegar or cider vinegar or other flavored vinegar - or lemon juice or lime juice.
