3 eggs lightly beaten
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
3 c scalded milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Nutmeg
Directions:
Pure comfort food, this custard bakes up silky smooth and rich with eggs. A classic Pennsylvania Dutch farm wife recipe.
Combine eggs, salt, sugar. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Pour into
custard cups
.
Sprinkle with ground nutmeg and place in pan of hot water, bake in preheated 350°F oven for 30-40 minutes, or until set and knife comes out clean.
