3 eggs lightly beaten
1/4 tsp salt
1/3 cup sugar
3 c scalded milk
1/2 tsp vanilla
Pure comfort food, this custard bakes up silky smooth and rich with eggs. A classic Pennsylvania Dutch farm wife recipe.
Combine eggs, salt, sugar. Add milk slowly, stirring constantly. Add vanilla. Pour into custard cups
Sprinkle with ground nutmeg and place in pan of hot water, bake in preheated 350°F oven for 30-40 minutes, or until set and knife comes out clean.
