Ingredients: Metric Units
1 c. lemon juice
8 c. water
Sugar Syrup
1 c. sugar
1 c. water
Directions:
A cool refreshing drink for a hot summer day.

Juice lemons. (You'll need about 5 lemons, depending on their size and how juicy they are.) Remove the seeds from the squeezed juice. (If the pulp bothers you, strain the juice through a sieve.) Place lemon juice into a pitcher.

In a saucepan, heat equal parts of sugar and water. (One cup of sugar may seem too sweet for you, if it is just scale it back.) Stir over medium high heat until sugar dissolves. Then add this sugar syrup to the lemon juice and stir well.

Add enough water to make two quarts. (If you're not using a 2-quart pitcher, then add 8 c. of water.) Chill and serve with over ice, garnished with a sprig of mint or a slice of strawberry.
