1/4 c. butter
1/4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
dash pepper
1 1/2 c. water
1/4 c. milk
1 tsp. chicken bouillon granules
2 c. leftover chicken, cubed
paprika to taste
Directions:
A warm and creamy treatment for leftover chicken night. Serve it over noodles or over green beans.
Yield: 4-6 servings
Note: If you don't have chicken bouillon granules, try using a packet of chicken Ramen seasoning. Or a bouillon cube.
In a large skillet, melt butter. Stir flour into melted butter to make a roux (a paste of flour and fat). Season with salt and pepper.
Slowly, add the water to the skillet, stirring to prevent lumps. Add milk. Bring to a boil. Add bouillon (or Ramen seasoning). Allow to cook a few minutes, or until thickened.
Add chicken and heat through.
Serve over beans or buttered noodles.
