Orange Frosting


Ingredients:
1/2 cup soft butter or margarine 1/8 tsp. salt About 3 1/2 cups sifted confectioner's sugar 2 unbeaten egg yolks 1 tsp. orange zest 2 Tbsp. milk or light cream 1 1/2 tsp. vanilla extract
Directions:
A summery fruity frosting; give a yellow cake a different flair. Yield: enough frosting for a two-layer 8-inch or 9-inch cake, or a 9x9x2 cake With an electric mixer on medium speed (or with a spoon), thoroughly mix butter with salt and 1 cup confectioner's sugar until light and fluffy. Add egg yolks and orange zest. Mix thoroughly. Add remaining sugar and milk alternately, beating until very smooth and of spreading consistency; add vanilla.
