Chocolate Velvet Frosting
1 1/2 c. sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
3 oz. unsweetened chocolate
6 Tbsp. cornstarch
1 1/2 c. boiling water
1/4 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Combine sugar, cornstarch, salt. Stir in boiling water until blended.
Cook, stirring constantly until thickened.
Add chocolate and butter, and continue cooking/stirring until melted.
Stir in vanilla.
Chill, stirring several times, until thick enough to spread.
