3/4 - 1 c. butter
2 c. flour
1 1/2 - 2 c. sugar
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
4-5 c. peeled and diced apples
1 tsp. cinnamon
Directions:
Colonial Day recipe.
Yield: 1 9x13 dessert
Preheat oven to 350°F.
Place butter in 9x13 rectangular baking pan and place in the oven to melt the butter.
While butter is melting, peel and dice apples. Toss with cinnamon.
In a large mixing bowl, stir together dry ingredients: flour, sugar, salt, baking powder. Add milk and beat until smooth.
Carefully remove the pan with the melted butter and spread batter into pan. (Batter will be thick.) The butter will come up around the batter. That's okay.
Sprinkle the cinnamon apples over the batter and press lightly.
Bake at 350°F about 30 min. or until lightly browned and batter is firm.
