Colonial Day Abigail's Apple Crisp
8 c. shredded apples
1/2 c. water
2 tsp. cinnamon
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. butter (cold)
Colonial Day recipe.
Preheat oven to 350°F. Prepare a 9x13 rectangular baking pan by spraying with nonstick or greasing with butter.
Place shredded apples in pan. Sprinkle water over apples. Combine salt and cinnamon. Sprinkle over apples.
Blend together flour, sugar, and butter with a pastry blender or with your hands. It should be a crumbly mixture. Sprinkle over apples.
Bake at 350°F for 40 min., or until done.
