Ingredients: Metric Units
Dough
1/2 lb. cream cheese
1/2 lb. butter
2 egg yolks
2 c. sifted flour

Powdered sugar for dusting
Pie filling of your choice
(We used date, nut, prune (ick), cherry, strawberry, apricot, blackberry...)
Directions:
My mother-in-law and her sisters get together at Christmastime and kiffels take over her kitchen. We each take a job - rolling the balls, filling the cookies, watching the oven.

You can buy pie filling in little jars about the size of a jam jar. Look in the "baking supplies" aisle of your grocery store.

The dough may be too sticky to work at first. When you can, roll the dough into 1" balls and refrigerate.

Preheat oven to 400F.

Dust a board with powdered sugar. Using a rolling pin, roll out each ball to a flat circle. Put a little dollop of pie filling in the center. Roll the dough around the filling like a tiny burrito. Place on a baking sheet.

Bake at 400 for 11 min.
