12 Red Peppers
12 Green Peppers
3 Hot Peppers
8 small onions
1 lb. dark brown sugar
3 c. white vinegar
3 c. water
I found this recipe typed onto 3 x 5 index card. Looks really, REALLY old. Who is Mrs. Goldenblum? No idea, but she made a great relish. If you live in CT and you know Mrs. G, contact me. In the meantime, raise a hot dog to Mrs. Goldblum and enjoy!
Yield: 12-14 half-pint jars
Put peppers through a coarse food chopper. Pour boiling water over them and let drain.
Put in a large stainless stockpot and add the brown sugar, the vinegar and the water. Boil until peppers are tender. Put into sterlized jars and process in a hot water bath for 30 minutes.
