Pennsylvania Dutch Broccoli in Bacon Dressing More Recipes Like This
4 slices bacon
1 lb. broccoli in bite-sized pieces
1/3 c. cider vinegar
4 tsp. prepared brown mustard
3/4 tsp. sugar
3/4 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. black pepper
Directions:
In medium skillet, snip four slices bacon and cook over medium heat until crisp. Drain on paper towels, set aside. Pour off all but about 3 Tbsp. of bacon fat from pan. Steam broccoli pieces in a vegetable steamer until crisp-tender, or microwave with a dash of water about 3 minutes, until the broccoli turns bright green. Toss wiht crumbled bacon. Over medium heat, add vinegar, mustard, sugar, salt, and pepper to bacon fat remaining in pan. Cook, stirring to scrape up pan drippings (deglaze pan). Cook until slightly thickened. Toss with broccoli and bacon. Share and enjoy.
