Penuche Frosting - large More Recipes Like This

Ingredients: Metric Units
1/2 c. butter
1 c. brown sugar
1/4 c. milk
3 1/2 c. powdered sugar
Directions:

(Pa's favorite birthday treat...)
Melt butter over low heat. Add brown sugar. Cook and stir until bubbly. Remove from heat. Add milk, beat until smooth. Add powdered sugar, stirring by hand until just of spreading consistency. Immediately frost the tops of two round cake layers. This frosting very quickly solidifies and becomes very difficult to spread -- work fast!
Makes enough frosting for the top of two round cake layers.
