A starter recipe. Even if you can't boil water, you can make your own baked potato. Why a recipe for baked potatoes?
Okay, some people will look at this and say, "Duh; No brainer!" However, I have discovered in my travels through life that the majority of young Americans have no idea how to cook. Even the simplest of recipes can baffle some. Why do you think pre-made mashed potatoes and fully cooked bacon are available in the freezer section? This recipe is for those who want to try to cook! This is a good first recipe. You can do it.
How many potatoes?
Use as many Russett or Baking or All-purpose potatoes as you wish.
Here's How To Do It
Preheat oven to 425° F.
With a fork, carefully stab your potatoes so that the skin is broken and the tines go in about 1/2 inch (1 cm). Place potatoes in the preheated oven directly on the rack, leaving a good amount of space between the potatoes.
Bake in the oven at 425°F for one hour.
Remove from oven with tongs and place on a warmed serving platter. Serve with butter or sour cream.
Enjoy! -Diana
