Beer Soup

Budget Soups recipes

Ingredients:
1 cup water 1 pint beer salt and nutmeg (optional) 2 eggs, separated 1 Tbsp. sugar 1 Tbsp. flour 1 cup milk Toasted bread cubes
Directions:
An unusual soup, warm and delicious with a football game. Add water to beer and bring it to a boil in a medium saucepan, seasoning with salt and nutmeg if desired. Mix sugar and flour, then beat yolks well into it. Add the milk and stir until smooth. Stir it all together into the hot beer mixture and bring it almost to boiling. Meanwhile, beat egg whites until soft peaks form. Fold the beaten egg whites into the beer soup and serve at once with toasted bread cubes. Enjoy! -Diana
