Make Your Own Marshmallows More Recipes Like This


Ingredients: Metric Units
2 envelopes unflavored gelatin
1.25 cups water
2 cups sugar
a smidgen of salt
oil of peppermint (optional)
red and/or green food coloring (optional)
confectionary sugar
Directions:
Soak the gelatin in 1/2 cup of cold water for 5 minutes. Cook sugar and 3/4 cup water in saucepan until it "threads." Pour onto dissolved gelatin and let stand until it is partially cooled. Add salt, and if desired, a few drops of oil of peppermint and a little red or green food coloring. Beat until light and thick. Pour into pan thickly dusted with confectionary sugar and put in a cool place to set. When set, turn out, cut marshmallow into squares and roll them in confectionary sugar. Enjoy! -Diana
