Broccoli Salad More Recipes Like This

Ingredients: Metric Units
1 or 2 bunches broccoli
1 red onion, chopped
1/2 lb. bacon, crumbled
1/2 c. raisins
cherry tomatoes
chopped walnuts

Dressing:
1/2 c. Miracle Whip
1 Tbsp. vinegar
1/4 c. sugar
Directions:
A beautiful addition to the picnic table, with a variety of textures and full of bright colors. A little bit tart and a little bit sweet - very Dutchy.

Note: Raw onions can be a migraine trigger in some people. If someone in your family is onion-sensitive, soak the onions in vinegar before adding them to the salad. And make sure you wash the knife and cutting board thoroughly before cutting other ingredients.
If you're substituting mayonnaise for Miracle Whip, add a little extra vinegar.

You know what would be a nice addition? Chopped hard-boiled egg.

Cut broccoli into bite-sized pieces. Slice cherry tomatoes in half. Add raisins, walnuts, and onion. Cook bacon and crumble (or snip into bits prior to cooking), then add to the bowl. Stir all together in a large bowl. In a small bowl, mix Miracle Whip and vinegar together and then add sugar. Pour over salad and toss. This is enough dressing for about a 3-quart bowl of salad. If you have more salad ingredients, you may want to double the dressing ingredients.

Refrigerate until picnic time!
