1 jar prepared spaghetti sauce
3 Tbsp butter
2 Tbsp flour
1 c milk
Grant Family Recipe
In a skillet or saucepan, melt butter.
Gently shake flour over butter and combine to form a smooth roux.
Gradually add milk, stirring to keep it smooth. Continue cooking over medium heat until of "sauce" consistency.
Transfer white sauce to a saucepan. Stir in one jar of "red sauce."
Makes enough for one package of spaghetti.
This is a family recipe which my kids adore. My one son calls it "pink sauce," reasoning that red sauce plus white sauce must equal pink sauce since red plus white equals pink. The sauce itself ends up an orange-y color. The creaminess of the white sauce cuts the acidity of the tomato.
