1 3-oz. package chipped beef (dried beef)
2 Tbsp. flour
2 Tbsp. butter
2 c. milk
noodles or toast
Directions:
Chop chipped beef (also known as dried beef).
In a large skillet, melt butter over medium heat. Add beef. Cook 5 minutes. (Grandma says "until it's frizzled..")
Sprinkle flour over beef, one tablespoon at a time. Stir to blend.
Slowly add milk. Cook over low heat until thickened.
Serve over toast or over noodles.
This dish is sometimes somewhat colorfully known as sh** on a shingle when served over toast. Notwithstanding, it's a family favorite.
