1 graham cracker
1-2 large marshmallows
1/2 Hershey chocolate bar
Build a nice crackling fire. (Find your local boy scout if you need pointers on safe fire-building.)
Find a good long stick, or zoink the skewers from Dad's barbecue set.
Skewer one or two marshmallows with your chosen cooking weapon. Do not choose now to pick a swordfight with your brother. Settle down in a nice toasty spot. Choose a spot in the fire that's hot, but not too flamey. If the flames lick your marshmallow, it will get black, not optimal for s'mores, though some swear by the "get it black, then peel the black off and re-toast" method.
Roll your stick or skewer, so that the marshmallow cooks evenly. It will puff up and get golden brown.
Pull it out of the fire. Take a graham cracker, break it in half to make two squares. Lay a chocolate bar on top of one half. Pinch the roasted marshmallow between the graham cracker and graham cracker chocolate bar. Slide the marshmallow off the stick.
