Family Recipe - Bogue Dessert recipes

Two 1-lb. boxes confectionery sugar (4 cups equal 1 pound) 2 to 3 tsp. salt 1 tsp. extract (any flavor) 1/2 cup water 2/3 cup shortening

Sift sugar. Put shortening in a bowl and beat 'til creamy. Add 1/4 cup water and salt. Beat on high speed 1 minute. Add some sugar gradually. Add rest of the water plus the extract and the rest of the sugar. Divide, color and place in decorating bags. Decorate! Enjoy! -Diana
