Tex-Mex Meatballs More Recipes Like This

Potluck Appetizer Recipes

Ingredients: Metric Units
1 Tbsp. (15 ml) vegetable oil
1 sm. onion, finely chopped (about 1/2 c. (119 ml))
1 clove garlic, crushed
2 tsp. (10 ml) chili powder
1 lb. (0.5 kg) lean ground pork or turkey
1/2 tsp. (2.5 ml) salt
1 8oz. can low-sodium tomato sauce
Directions:
Heat oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Cook and stir onion and garlic 3 minutes, until onion is translucent. Add chili powder. Cook, stirring, 1 minute longer. Cool.

In a large bowl, combine ground meat, onion mixture, and salt. Shape heaping teaspoonfuls of mixture into balls.

Spray a large skillet with nonstick spray. Cook meatballs over medium-high heat about 5 minutes to brown. Continue cooking until cooked through. (About 15-20 minutes total)

Stir in tomato sauce. Serve on kaiser rolls with salsa.
