Basic Vanilla Ice Cream
2 eggs or 1/2 c. EggBeaters pasteurized egg substitute
2/3 c sugar
1 3/4 c milk
2 c cream
2 tsp vanilla
Serve over apple pie while waving flags. And call your mother. Just about as American as you can get.
Raw eggs can carry salmonella - this recipe doesn't get cooked, so use a pasteurized egg substitute if you're concerned about your eggs' safety.
Beat eggs and sugar with an electric mixer until thick and cream colored. Add milk, cream, vanilla. Mix well. Freeze in ice cream freezer.
