1 lb. box brown sugar
1/2 c. margarine
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 c. evaporated milk
2 tsp. vinegar
1 c. boiling water
1 tsp. vanilla
3 oz. chocolate, melted
Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 9x13 inch cake pan or a bundt pan (do not use layer pans).
Into a medium bowl, sift together dry ingredients: flour, baking soda, salt.
Combine evaporated milk with vinegar.
Cream margarine and brown sugar. Beat in eggs, one at a time.
Alternate adding dry ingredients and evaporated milk mixture. Blend until smooth. Carefully add boiling water and vanilla. The batter will be very thin.
Pour batter into prepared pan. Bake at 350°F for 35-40 minutes.
Frost with butter cream frosting (see Basic Buttery Frosting
)or Diana's Budget Cake Frosting
. Drizzle melted chocolate over the top.
